Contract term to be 9 months or total number of days students are in attendence. Benefits will be provided according to school board policy.
Qualifications include:
- 60+ college credit hours
- General concept of child growth and development and child behavior characteristics
- Techniques of controling and motivating students
- Ability to maintain cooperative working relationships with students, staff and parents
- Ability to understand and carry out written and oral instructions
- Ability and desire to learn new methods and procedures to be followed in instructional settings.
- Ability to assume responsibility for supervising students when required
Duties include
- Assist instructional personnel with the developement and presentation of learning materials and instructional exercises
- Tutor students individually or in small groups to reinforce and follow-up learning activity
- Oversee and supervise students during classroom activities, in other school programs, recess, and field trips.
- Perform a variety of regular clerical duties such as filing, typing, or use of office machines
- Maintain discipline in the absence of the teacher or while working with individual students or groups of students.
